Image of the Week: Wikisubtitles Closed by the PAF
Wikisubtitles, a Web service type wiki dedicated to subtitles translate so directly online, which already talked a little over a year, is going through tough few days. After completely remodel the site and have generated a fairly large community, with subtitles for literally hundreds of rounds, has received a touch of the PAF (Anti-Piracy Federation) accusing them of profiting with protected material. Something unusual, as it has no advertising and the only material we can find that subtitles are the users themselves write / translate?
As we see in catching up, it appears that the page has been suspended by its hosting at the behest of the PAF, something that bothers me as a regular user and quite saddened. I will not say much more because I do not want to generate legal problems to my colleagues, but I think this kind of despicable actions to people who do not hurt anybody. Anyone else you think this situation ironically similar to that experienced in Genbeta a few months ago?
From here my full support to Wikisubtitles and his splendid community, and hope to return soon.
